Owner & Head Coach

My fitness journey started in the late 80’s, while I was still at school. It was the usual thing, sign up at a local gym, get a programme and crack on with it.

Part of my motivation at the time, was I wanted to be fitter for rugby. Like any endeavour, if there is no motivation the desire to continue ends quickly, so needless to say when the rugby season ended and I finished school, training came to a standstill. Messed around with some sort of fitness regime for a while – played squash, went to the gym, cycled etc but never took it seriously.
In the mid to late 90’s my body started to change, as in I started to put on weight. So signed up to a globo gym and once again got on with it – spin class, swimming, weights etc. And that was the scenario for many years.
Sometime in 2007, I was not loving work and as I was working in a restaurant, I was getting fat again – I could only hold out for so long when delicious lemon meringue pie is staring me in the face every day. At the time I looked at what I did for fun, and one of the things was to go to the gym. So I got my qualification as a Personal Trainer at the end of 2007.
I started working at a globo gym in Sydney Australia and did that for 3 years. It was during this time that I discovered CrossFit. And so the journey started. I became a member of a local box, got my Level 1, became a coach and now own a gym. Happy days!!

I have been into my fitness and going to the gym and running since my early 20’s, until I came across Crossfit in 2011 and haven’t looked back since.

I have learned so much over the last few years from training and competing in Crossfit.
I know from first-hand experience that with the aid of great coaches, hard work and determination that Crossfit protocols will yield incredible results in performance, body composition and general health. I strongly believe in a holistic approach to health through training, nutrition and lifestyle, and in having a positive can-do attitude.
I love coaching Crossfit and helping people attain such positive amazing health and I look forward to my journey over the next few years in developing many athletes and further developing myself.

My CrossFit journey began in 2013 after hearing and reading so much about it, I wanted to try it for myself and since then I have tried and tested various methods of training, however I always found myself back in the box.

I have always had a passion for sport, growing up in a country town I was lucky enough to have exposure to a wide range of team and individual sports, and in my early teens developed a strong love for rowing.
Through high school I competed at state and national level where I represented NSW and in my first year of University competed for Australia at the Junior World Championships.
Since finishing University, I have worked as a PDHPE Teacher and Rowing Coach and after 5 years in the classroom have decided that coaching and teaching people who have a will to learn and a desire to achieve their goals no matter how big or small is what I am most passionate about, so here I am !
I love what CrossFit stands for and the variety it offers to training. I think so often for so many people, training can easily become a chore, and I understand the importance a coach can make in creating an environment where the athlete feels valued, has the opportunity to learn and develop their skills, and most importantly, has fun and enjoys what they are doing.

Growing up I was always active and sporty, school athletics and swimming carnivals were the highlight of my school years.

I also swam squad and played netball for many years but at 15 gave it all up and started to put on weight. My weight fluctuated a few times from the ages 15 to 25 with travel, uni and my love for fried food and sugar!
Being active and living a healthy lifestyle became such a chore and I really struggled with my body image. Before CrossFit (I like to refer to this time as BC!) I ran, completing 2 half marathons, did some weightlifting at Fitness First, but it was never fun, I never wanted to go to the gym, I had to.
Then one day I stumbled onto CrossFit on youtube, I watch every single video of the games and knew I had to try it, I was hooked after my first session. I love everything CrossFit is about, a great community, setting and smashing goals, learning so many new skills and pushing your body to limits you never knew where possible, plus having fun while doing it.
The way CrossFit has reshaped the fitness industry, especially for women, it has been life changing. CrossFit has changed the conversation, focusing on being body positive, celebrating strength and muscles and teaching and showing women how to live a healthy and happy life. I know it has helped me in so many ways.
This is why I love being a CrossFit coach. I get to help others through this same journey, encouraging them when times are tough and celebrating with them when smashing goals, whatever they may be.
Working as a web developer the past 3 years and a designer for 4 years before that, switching careers to become a coach and share my passion with others has been the best decision ever
